Hello, another busy week is over and again the children have worked hard and impressed with their enthusiasm and effort. Â In topic we have, as you may have been told (!), been studying the mummification process. Â A gory and horrible topic which we thoroughly enjoyed! Â I hope work has started on topic homework, if not maybe next week's work on Tutankhamen will get things going!
In Maths Year 6 have been working on long division with Miss Kemp, and although there have been times when the children have got stuck, progress has been made and I am really proud of their efforts this week. Â Year 4 and 5 have been exploring addition methods for 4 and 5 digit numbers, and again, have been working their socks off!
In English we have been discussing whether life in a village is better than living in a city. Â The children spent a long time reflecting on the differences between the two, and the advantages and disadvantages. Â This has produced some well structured and thoughtful writing.
We have of course spent some time getting ready for this morning's Harvest Festival. Â I was very proud of how the children got up and read to a church full of their peers and adults. Â It is never easy and I thought they did an amazing job!
And lastly, we have been designing Christmas cards (I know, I know), ready for sending home should you wish to order some from Cauliflower Cards. Â The weeks really do fly!
Can I remind you to send the children in with coats, as it is getting colder, especially in the morning. Â Also, each child should have a water bottle (named) for in school. Â We are letting the children have access to water in the class, as it is proven to help with concentration and studying. Â Thank you!
