A warm Woore Primary School welcome to the Class 3 page!Â
We hope you enjoy seeing what we get up to this year! We are a hard-working, inquisitive and caring classroom that love to create, explore, write, imagine and discover. Our teacher is Mr Dennett and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Battrick, Miss Pegg and Mrs Cliff.Â

Please find information below about what we will be learning about this half term and across the year. In our classroom, we follow a two-year cycle of learning to ensure that all learning objectives can be covered. In our classroom, we prioritise self-esteem and inclusivity. We have many planned opportunities for oracy- speaking and listening- as we believe these are key to our children becoming well-rounded and confident individuals.Â
To support your child at home, we encourage you to complete homework, which is set on Mondays and usually consists of a Maths Shed activity and a Spelling Shed activity to consolidate learning in the classroom from that week. In addition to this, it is important that children are fluent and confident with their times tables and can answer questions automatically without counting. Please log onto Times Table Rockstars to practise these at home or play Hit the Button games online.Â
"There is more treasure found in books than in all the pirates' loot on Treasure Island". To ensure your child becomes a fluent, confident and capable reader, please encourage your child to read as much as they possibly can at home. Each time they have read, your child will receive a star to add to their reading rocket in their reading record book. Once they have completed their rocket, they win a prize! Regular readers will also be entered into a prize draw each half term to win a book. We also have a 'Passport to Reading' challenge. When your child has finished a book, they will complete a book review and then receive a stamp. Once they have collected 5 stamps, they will receive a prize. How many books can you finish this year?Â
Forest School will be taking place on Monday afternoons so please ensure your children have appropriate outdoor clothing particularly as the weather changes. PE is taught on Tuesdays so ensure kits are worn on these days and that children have a transparent water bottle.Â
Please ensure your child has their reading book, reading record book and spelling book with them every day so that they are prepared and ready to learn.Â
Thank you for all your support.
Mr DennettÂ
