Relationships and Sex Education

Our Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) curriculum, delivered through the Kapow Primary PSHE programme, supports pupils in developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to build healthy, respectful relationships and make informed choices as they grow.

Through carefully sequenced lessons, children explore topics such as friendships, families, online relationships, personal boundaries, and emotional wellbeing in an age-appropriate and inclusive way. As pupils progress, they are gradually introduced to learning about the changes that occur during puberty and the importance of personal hygiene, privacy, and respect for themselves and others.

Kapow’s approach ensures that sensitive topics are taught with care, clarity, and respect, creating a safe environment where pupils feel comfortable to ask questions and express their thoughts. The programme also promotes core values such as kindness, consent, equality, and responsibility, helping children to understand the importance of positive relationships both now and in the future.

We work in partnership with parents and carers, keeping them informed about the content of the curriculum and supporting them in continuing these important conversations at home.
