Geography

Our Geography curriculum aims to enthuse children through a high quality curriculum, which facinates and engages their curiosity about the world around them and the people who inhabit it. As children progress through our school, they will become more aware of the interactions between physical and human processes and of the formation of landscapes and environments. The purpose of our Geography curriculum is to develop children's geographical knowledge and skills that will provide the framework to help them to explain how the Earth's features are shaped, inter-connected and change over time.

Our school uses the Kapow Scheme of work which provides children with an array of exciting and engaging  learning opportunities throughout the school. This is regularly updated to stay abreast of current topical and world issues. The Geography curriculum is taught over a two year rolling programme to ensure the children in mixed age classes are always provided with new lines of Geographical inquiry whilst ensuring important curriculum content coverage.

Forest School

Out of class, we are extremely fortunate to have our own Forest School. Children across the school engage in weekly sessions with a fully qualified and experienced Forest School leader. During Forest School, children explore a range of environmental issues and engage in a number of Geographical investigations as well as practical tasks.
