Computing
Our Computing curriculum is delivered using the Teach Computing Curriculum, developed by the National Centre for Computing Education. It provides a clear and progressive framework that equips pupils with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Throughout their time at school, pupils explore key areas of computing including computer systems and networks, programming, data and information, and digital media. Lessons are carefully sequenced so that children build on prior knowledge, developing confidence in problem-solving, logical thinking, and creativity. From creating simple algorithms in Key Stage 1 to designing and debugging more complex programs in Key Stage 2, pupils are encouraged to think like computer scientists.
Online safety is an integral part of our curriculum. Children learn how to use technology responsibly, respectfully, and securely, understanding how to keep themselves safe online and how to behave positively in digital spaces.
The Teach Computing Curriculum offers engaging, practical lessons that inspire curiosity and innovation. By the time pupils leave our school, they are well-prepared to continue their computing education and to use technology effectively in everyday life.
